Dongbin Shin brings a wealth of experience to his art of violin performance. Born to a musical family, he started piano at the age of five before switching to violin. As teenage professional musicians that play at government meetings and festivals, the string trio he has formed with his two sisters garnered much attention from King5, as well as other local media. An accomplished pianist and a regional composition winner in high school, Dongbin tries to incorporate all of his multi-directional talents in his performance.
As the winner of the 2011 Central Washington University Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition, Dongbin has performed the Dvorak Violin Concerto with the Central Washington University Symphony Orchestra in 2012. He has previously served as the concertmaster at The Hartt Symphony Orchestra.
An avid chamber musician, Dongbin has chamber music experience from the age of 15 as a member of the Shin Trio, which also includes his 2 sisters. They have performed in numerous public venues for the city of Seattle and Federal Way, WA. Dongbin was appointed as the violin technique class instructor at The Hartt School in 2012.
